Welcome to the Mind Gym
This is where you train the most important part of yourself. Your mind.
Your mind works the way it does right now because it was trained by your past experiences. That is why everyone has a different personality: every person has lived through different experiences, and those experiences shaped the way they think, see, act, and believe. This invisible programming runs the show. It is behind every thought you think, every action you take, and every belief you hold. We train the mind so that it works for you, not against you.
And it goes deeper than your thoughts. Your heart and your brain both give off electrical and magnetic fields, and your heart's is the strongest in your whole body, far stronger than your brain's, strong enough that sensitive instruments can pick it up from outside your body. Researchers have found that emotions like stress and gratitude change the rhythm your heart sends out. So whatever you think, feel, speak, and do is not small. It moves through your whole body, and it shapes how you show up for everyone around you. It really is that deep.
Your brain is not fixed. It is built from billions of nerve cells that talk to each other, and every time you think a thought, feel an emotion, or repeat an action, a group of those cells fires together. Fire the same group often enough and the connection between them gets stronger and faster, until it runs without you choosing it. Scientists call this neuroplasticity. We call this training the mind.
First, the lessons
Learn how your brain works
You cannot hijack a program you do not understand, so first you learn how it works: your mind, your programming, and your nervous system. Once you understand how your mind works, you can learn how to reprogram the program.
Second, put in the reps
Practice a new way
Exercises you practice to change your perspective, get through blocks, and create a new way of being by creating a new way of thinking. Mind work comes down to three things: read, write, and listen.
You cannot reprogram a program that you do not understand.
At BVSA we care that you understand the WHY behind WHAT you do. Every thought you think fires a pattern in your brain, and the pattern you run the most becomes dominant. The good news, and the whole reason this gym exists, is that a new pattern can be trained. A new way of being can be trained, just like you were trained to be the person you are right now. Your thoughts, your actions, your beliefs, and your daily routines are all practice.
If you want something to change, you have to change something inside you first. Real change happens from the inside out. You do not fix your life by forcing the outside. You change the program running underneath it, and that starts with how you think, feel, speak, and see the world.
The foundation of that whole program is your self worth. When you have high self worth, you naturally start making better choices: how you train, how you recover, how you fuel, and who you keep close.
The Science
Take a tour of your brain
Your brain has different areas for different jobs: memory, emotion, focus, movement, and the deep patterns that run on autopilot. Explore the inside, watch the signals move, and see how every part is connected. The mind is a muscle, and this is the gym.
This is the inside of your brain. The little lights moving along the paths are signals, neurotransmitters carrying thoughts and messages from one part to the next, because nothing in here works alone. Hover a number to preview it, or tap to zoom in and take the tour.
