Train Her Like a Girl

Menstrual · Your Winter

The Inner One · reset, feel, decide

The reset. Rest, feel, decide, and refuel.

Day 1 is the first day of real bleeding, not spotting, and it is the start of a brand new cycle. Both estrogen and progesterone bottom out, so there is no hormone chemistry pushing you outward, and that is the whole point of this phase. It is the one week of the month where you see your life clearly, without decoration.

Athletes call it the veil coming off. The team drama you had been tolerating suddenly feels obvious. The position you are unhappy in stops feeling fine. That clarity is not you being negative, it is information you usually cannot hear over your own momentum. Use this phase to review, not to launch: look back at the month you finished, decide what you are dropping, and set one intention for the month ahead. Then rest hard enough to actually go get it.

You are allowed to train through your period, and movement often reduces cramping. Sitting out on principle is not recovery, it is just missing. But this is the week to pull back the intensity and let your body reset, because this rest is the deposit that pays for the next three weeks.

That is the shape of your winter. The Cycle Smart guide turns it into a real plan: exact effort targets, sample training weeks, a phase by phase food list, and a printable tracker to learn your own body.
