Connection & Community
Your relationships and belonging are part of your health.
You are wired for connection. Social wellness is the health of your relationships, your team, your family, your friends, and your sense of belonging among them. It is not a soft add-on. Loneliness measurably raises stress and harms the body, and strong connection is one of the most consistent predictors of a long, healthy life, it shows up again and again in the longevity research.
The people you spend your energy on either fill your tank or drain it. Part of taking care of yourself is being honest about which is which, and protecting the relationships that are real. As an athlete, your team is part of your health: trust, belonging, and feeling seen change how you play and how you recover.
Connection is also a skill you can practice: showing up, listening, being honest, asking for help, and letting people in. You do not have to do any of this alone, and you were never meant to.
Try It Today
Reach out to one person who fills your tank today. A real conversation counts as recovery.
